Restoring the land is one of our greatest passions. Implementing current technology with traditional ranching techniques is part of the heart of UCCC.
Pictured above is an effective stock water system using a submersible pump powered by solar panels in our Amarillo Pasture. A float box inside the 20 ft. drinker controls water fed from a 10,000 gallon storage tank to provide drinking water for more than 400 head of cattle.
Located in the village of Mosquero, NM the Rectory was abandoned for twenty years and inhabited by birds. The property has been lovingly transformed into a high-end Bed & Bath. It offers luxurious accommodations for six with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious living room and eat-in kitchen, all with a unique New Mexico ranch style.
Our family is dedicated to the enrichment of our land, community and children. We support local organizations, businesses and host community events including educational opportunities for children.
Pictured here are fourth and fifth grade students from four neighboring rural schools who gathered at UCCC for the Playa Lake Festival to learn about Playa Lakes, birding, reptiles, wildlife and riparian restoration.
The TLC Wild Bird Sanctuary is fenced and has its own well to water native trees along the perimeter area, a grape arbor, berry bushes and a wildlife water guzzler. A mowed walking path is maintained with contemplative seating areas scattered about.
Birding at Bueyeros became a reality when Christopher Rustay of the Playa Lakes Joint Venture brought an Albuquerque Audubon birding group to the ranch on a glorious September day. Birders enjoyed spotting around the ranch house and walked out to the Bird Sanctuary where 29 species were sited in less than 20 minutes.
